The paper responds well to damping and the colour is better for the use of alum. HP 200g Fabriano is best I find. Lino I do with oil based inks speeded up by cobalt drier and I clean the block with white spirit. However I have taught with water based ink and I tend to use a bucket of water and just soak a cloth and keep wiping until the in starts to shift, then you need to wipe down with clean cloths or paper towel.
